It’s hot. It’s busy and yes, “It’s Been Another Big Week In Real Estate’ at De Freitas & Ryan.
Today started at 8am with the listing of a Commercial site for Auction on the 14th of February. When I arrived at the office, I was told the 14th of February was Valentine’s Day and my remark was that would mean we would have a number of buyers loving to buy it on the day. No real response from the crew so it looks as if I’ll have to try my sense of humour somewhere else or maybe it’s just too hot today at 40 degrees.
We are pleased to welcome Tanya to our Sales team and I’m sure she will fit in really well. It is a hard business this Real Estate at the moment however when you’re keen, enthusiastic and only read the sports pages, you do well. I just had a call from one of our bloggers out there who informed me that the Editor of The West Australian has just been sacked and that maybe he should have taken my advice and concentrated more on the sports pages himself. He was on $430,000 a year so I hope he has paid off the “Camry’. You wouldn’t read about it would you?
First day back at work for my old boss, Harry Nicholls, from over in Melbourne who just rang to wish me all the best for 2009. Harry told me that he turns 74 this year. Harry started his Real Estate career when he was 14 years old so, “Well done, mate’ that’s 60 years in the business. We reminisced a lot over the phone and I told him I remembered the day when he turned 40 all those Real Estate years ago.
Melita has just told me that she has leased a new townhouse in Mount Lawley and that she will be leasing the one next door tomorrow. I think we’ve leased about 8 this week and we’ve received some new managements as well.
On the Sales side of things, the inquiry rate is really quite amazing and all the team are extremely busy.
I’ve just been given the go ahead on a new Strata Management in Bicton and yes, it’s all go.
I had an old friend of mine who’s associated with the Real Estate business drop in to see me on Monday and while I showed her around the office, she remarked how busy we all were.
As I said last week, it’s exciting in here and I better go as I’m off to Baldivis with Melita to list a new rental at $400 per week.
